Back for its second year in 2027, Countryside Careers is an event for students aged 13+ and those considering a change of career in Kent. It is designed to inspire visitors and broaden their understanding of the wide range of careers available across rural, land-based and environmental industries.
The event will provide a valuable opportunity to:
– Explore diverse countryside and land-based career pathways
– Engage directly with local employers and industry professionals
– Learn about apprenticeships, further education and progression routes
– Develop employability awareness and support Gatsby Benchmark objectives
– Gain insight into real-world careers linked to curriculum learning
Visitors will have the chance to speak with employers and take part in interactive activities that showcase careers in agriculture, conservation, forestry, animal care, environmental science, engineering, rural tourism and more.
The event is open to both individual visitors and class group bookings and is designed to be engaging, inclusive and informative, supporting schools in delivering high-quality careers education and meaningful encounters with employers.
