The Kent County Agricultural Society is delighted to announce the introduction of green technology at the Kent Showground as the first step in the long-term project to future-proof the site.

The Summer of 2026 has seen some major works completed at the Showground, which saw an array of solar panels fitted to the roof of the Clive Emson Conference Hall to produce a steady supply of cleaner renewable energy throughout the year. This project will reduce the site’s reliance on mains electricity for both Society events and for those booked through the Kent Event Centre.

Earlier in the year, we were also delighted to welcome the installation of new Electric Vehicle Charging Points on site. Situated in the Alan Day House car park and Car Park B, behind the John Hendry Pavilion, these new power points are available for use by both staff and clients as well as visitors to conferences and events which utilise the car parks within the Showground.

With further plans for investment in the future-proofing of the Kent Showground in the works, this represents a major first step in the process and represents the Society’s dedication to lowering the carbon footprint of the Kent Showground and our events.
