What is the date of the Heritage Transport Show?

The Heritage Transport Show will take place on 6th April 2024. 

Where is the Heritage Transport Show?

The Heritage Transport Show is held at the Kent Showground, Maidstone, ME14 3JF.

The Showground is on the A249 at the top of Detling Hill between junction 7 of the M20 and junction 5 of the M2.

What are the opening times?

The opening times are 10.00am – 4.00pm.

Who organises the Heritage Transport Show?

The Heritage Transport Show is organised by the Kent County Agricultural Society to raise money for the Heritage section of the Kent County Show. As a charity, the Society have the following charitable objectives and also make a number of awards each year:

  • The improvement of agriculture, forestry, horticulture, allied industries, rural crafts and the breeding of livestock
  • The demonstration of the improved methods connected with the above
  • The holding of the annual Kent County Show
  • The encouragement of  agricultural and horticultural education, research and experimental work

What is the South East Bus Festival?

The annual South East Bus Festival runs alongside the Heritage Transport Show at the Kent Showground, bringing together a huge number of buses and coaches, old and new, from across the South East and beyond.

How do I become a member?

Become a member of the Kent County Agricultural Society and support the Heritage Transport Show! Membership starts at £60 a year and benefits include free tickets to the Heritage Show, Kent County Show and Biddenden Tractorfest.

What does the entry price cover?

Entry price gives you access inside the Showground and the chance to view the heritage vehicles at your own pace. All demonstrations and exhibitions are free for all to enjoy. You may need to buy something to eat and drink at one of our delicious vendors, or be tempted by something at a trade stand!

 

Can I purchase tickets on the day?

Yes, you will be able to purchase tickets on the gate.

Is there car parking?

Please enter the Showground through the Main Entrance off the A249. The stewards will direct you towards the parking area.

There is plenty of parking and parking is free of charge. Please note: parking is mainly on grass.

Can I get here by public transport?

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are welcome at the Heritage Transport Show but we ask if you please keep them on a lead.

Is food and drink available?

There are plenty of catering options available at the Heritage Transport Show. Click here to see the list of catering units attending this year’s Show.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

We do our best to ensure there are a range of options available to cater for dietary requirements. Many of the catering units at the Heritage Transport Show have vegetarian and vegan menu options.

If you have any specific allergies, please speak to a member of staff inside the catering unit.

How can I apply to exhibit my vehicle?

Applications for vehicle exhibits will be open soon! All applications will be online via Showing Scene this year.

How much is it to exhibit my vintage vehicle?

Vehicles manufactured before 1990 are free to exhibit. Vehicles manufactured in 1990 and after are classed as ‘Classics of the Future’ and a £5 exhibitor fee will apply.

What is included in my exhibitors pack?

All exhibitors will receive a vehicle pass and two entry tickets. All additional entry tickets must be purchased.

Are there facilities for disablities?

There is disabled parking available. Please display your Blue Badge as you enter the Showground, and let one of our parking stewards know.

There are disabled access WC facilities, please refer to the map to locate these.

Is camping available?

Caravan and camping facilities are available within walking distance at Oak View Holiday Park, opposite the Showground.
