The Kent County Agricultural Society, organiser of the Kent County Show, is delighted to announce that HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh will pay an official visit to this year’s Show on Friday 4th July 2025.
As a Patron of the Association of Shows and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO), HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh is a passionate supporter of agricultural shows throughout the United Kingdom and of the rural communities that these events support and promote.
During her visit to the Kent County Show, the Duchess of Edinburgh will meet local farmers and their livestock, equine exhibitors and local businesses alike.
The Duchess of Edinburgh last visited the Kent County Show in 2009 to join the Society in celebrating it’s 80th Show!
Over the years, the Society has welcomed official visits from a number of members of the Royal family, including the Society’s Patron, HRH The Duke of Kent, The Late Queen Elizabeth II and Late Duke of Edinburgh. The Society was also delighted to welcome HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne to compete in the equine Spillers Combined Competition at the Kent County Show in 1972.
“It is an honour for us to welcome HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh back to the Kent County Show to see the incredible hard work, passion and dedication to country life that will be on display!” said Nikki Dorkings, General Manager of the Kent County Agricultural Society.
Matthew Cullen, Chairman of the Kent County Agricultural Society, echoed this by saying “A visit by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron to the ASAO and a dedicated supporter of rural communities throughout the UK, highlights the importance of supporting and celebrating our agricultural industry within the county. We are excited to be able to show HRH some of the tireless work the Society does in promoting the vital role that food producers play, and to meet with some of our supporters.”
The Kent County Show is an annual celebration of the best of Kent, featuring food, farming, rural pursuits and fun for all the family!
This year’s Show will take place on the 4th, 5th & 6th July 2025.
