Our volunteers do fantastic things, from supporting us at our events, to teaching young people about food and farming.
We’re always looking for people to join our volunteer team to help us deliver our charitable work and we have a variety of roles to choose from.

What will my role be?
We have a number of different volunteering roles. Please see our vacancies as these will have more detailed descriptions about the roles. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Do I have to be a member to volunteer?
No, you do not have to be a member of the Society in order to volunteer with us.
How much time will I be expected to give?
The minimum requirement we ask of our volunteers is 1 day a year. However, there is the opportunity to do more should you wish.
How old do I have to be in order to volunteer?
For health and safety reasons, we require all our volunteers to be over the age of 16.
Do I need any experience/ qualifications
There are a couple of roles which do require specific experience; this will be noted on the role description. Otherwise, no experience is needed for volunteering with us.
Can I carry out work experience/ work placements with you?

Will I receive training?
Yes, all our volunteers receive the training and information they need in order to carry out their volunteer work. Each volunteer will also be under the direction of a Chief Steward, who will be able to offer guidance and support.
Will I be insured?
The Kent County Agricultural Society holds full insurance cover for volunteers providing they are carrying out their role in full knowledge of the guidelines and procedures laid down for their particular role.
What are the benefits?
We have a large group of incredibly welcoming and friendly volunteers, many of whom enjoy it so much that they have been with us for a good number of years! Volunteering will help you make new friends with like-minded people, whilst also doing something fun and helping to support our charitable work. We also hold a couple of social events for our volunteers throughout the year including a fabulous Christmas party bash!
