Saturday 6th April saw stunning vehicles, local businesses and record-breaking visitor numbers at this year’s Heritage Transport Show and South East Bus Festival at the Kent Showground in Detling.

The Kent County Agricultural Society was delighted to welcome back the annual Heritage Transport Show and South East Bus Festival on Saturday 6th April 2024. Despite heavy rainfall throughout the start of 2024, the team and committee behind the event made the decision to go ahead, come what may, and put a last minute wet weather plan in place to ensure the event could continue.

A break in the weather on the day saw record visitor numbers join us for a celebration of vehicles through the ages, with over 1000 vintage and classic cars, motorbikes, tractors, military, steam and stationary engines as well as 100s of buses of all eras from across the South East and beyond.

As well as the awe-inspiring display of vehicles, visitors to the show enjoyed free bus rides around the Showground, entertainment from Miss Holiday Swing and the Kent Youth Trials Club as well as the chance to browse our traditional Farmer’s Market

Speaking on the success of this year’s show, Nikki Dorkings, General Manager of the Kent Showground, said “We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to this year’s Heritage Transport Show. The substantial increase in attendees, exhibitors, and traders reflects the passion and dedication of our community towards preserving and showcasing our transport history.”

Next year’s Heritage Transport Show will take place at the Kent Showground on Saturday 5th April 2025 and will once again feature the South East Bus Festival as a key part of the event.
