Rural support charity YANA (You Are Never Alone) is launching a live helpline on the 18th of March, which will be open every Monday- Friday from 10am to 1pm, to give instant support to farmers in need.

The helpline will be opening a line for communication and allowing callers to speak to an experienced team. YANAs line will also be offering a dedicated call-back service for out-of-hours calls as the charity recognises the importance of accessibility and demand for help.

The charity has remained dedicated to ensuring a neutral/open space for people to talk about their worries and struggles, whilst offering help for those to seek professional help where needed. Over the last three years, YANA has seen a considerable increase of 216% in requests for help through their helpline.

The chair of trustees, Henry Kilvert said that YANA’s helpline wants to reach as many people in need of help as possible after EFRA committee’s report found rural workers including farmers face a high amount of stress in their work due to unforeseen causes such as weather and animal health crises.

Farmers, farm workers and others can reach YANA’s helpline by calling 0300 323 0400 or emailing helpline@yanahelp.org.
