JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Events Team Leader, Kent County Agricultural Society

Job Purpose: To arrange and supervise events, conferences, shows and manage an events team

Reporting To: Deputy General Manager & Show Secretary

Basis: Full time, maternity cover

Working Hours: 37.5 hours

Evening and weekend working will also be required

Location: Detling, Maidstone and/or flexible working

Principle Accountabilities:

– Work directly with the Deputy General Manager and Show Secretary in the planning, organisation and implementation of events run by the Kent County Agricultural Society

– Work with the Sales Team to deliver suitable conference and event packages to our customers whilst maximising income and use of the space available

– Work with the Accounts Manager to ensure the prompt issuing of invoices both for events and any additional services

– Work with Deputy GM and Show Secretary to produce operational delivery plans

– Be the principal point of contact for events customers providing a seamless service from start to finish

– Conduct client site visits pre-event

– Ensure events are compliant with all regulatory requirements

– Coordinate with Facilities Manager to ensure events are set up to client’s specifications

– Maintain events database system

– Work with Marketing Coordinator to actively promote the Events Centre

– Attend networking and industry specialist events as required as an ambassador of the Kent County Agricultural Society and the Kent Events Centre

– Undertake staff appraisals in consultation with Deputy General Manager and Show Secretary

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Deputy General Manager & Show Secretary from time to time.

Essential Experience:

Desirable Experience:

– Ability to represent the organisation at events and exhibitions

– Contract preparation

Essential Skills:

– Good use of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Office programmes

– Good use of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Office programmes

– Management of staff

– Previous experience dealing with the general public

Desirable Skills:

– Use of AutoCAD programme

– Knowledge of conferences, indoor and outdoor events

– Educated to degree level or with relevant experience
