Kent County Agricultural Society are looking for a dedicated and self-motivated Hospitality Coordinator to look after their busy conference and events facilities. If you think you have the right skills and experience for this role, then we want to hear from you.


Job Title: Hospitality Coordinator, Kent County Agricultural Society

Reporting To: Events Team Leader

Basis: Full-time Salary: £25,000

Working Hours: 37.5

Evening and weekend work will also be required.

Location: Detling, Maidstone

Principle Accountabilities:

– Liaise with events and sales team on upcoming conferences and events, function sheets and plans will be given to you by the team

– Meet and greet customers/delegates and ensure that they are looked after throughout the day

– Provide site safety information, WiFi logins etc.

– Serve drinks and refreshments to delegates in a timely and professional manner

– Keep refreshment area clean, tidy and replenished throughout the day

– Set up rooms/halls in advance of booking to the requested configuration, assited by the facilities team as requested

– Be on call for the client throughout the day

– Clean down after conference/event, ensuring that tables, chairs etc. are stored away correctly. This may be with the help of the facilities team. This also includes washing up and putting away crockery and general cleaning duties

– Lay out and clear away any pre-booked food as and when required

– Cleaning and litter picking as required

– Ordering and preparing of food as and when required

– Managing stock control, administration and deliveries

– When not engaged with customer service for events, conferences etc. work with the events team on other duties as requested

– Be the Hospitality Lead when clients are in, this will include delegation of hospitality staff and contractors on the day

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Deputy General Manager and Show Secretary from time to time.


Essential Experience

– Experience in a hospitality role

– Experience in managing a team

– A full driving licence, willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends when required

Desirable Experience

– Experience and knowledge in the conference and events sector

– Experience of catering and hospitality

– Excellent customer services skills

– High level of self-motivation

– High level of self-confidence

– Effective time managment

Additional to add:

– Flexibility with shifts and working hours is essential for this role

– Ability to contribute towards a team environment but have the confidence to work on your own

– You must be adaptable to work in a very busy events and conference environment
